💻 Event: Hive will be hosting a Fireside Chat with Jayasimha Nuggehalli on 30 October. We'll chat about the challenges and successes of transitioning to cage-free systems in Asia, strategies for engaging corporations, the complexities of working with local farmers and ensuring economic sustainability, and much more!

🗣️ Discussion: Animal Welfare vs Global Health Debate Week is here! Until 13 October, the EA Forum is discussing the statement “It would be better to spend an extra $100m on animal welfare than on global health.” Some posts already published on this topic:
If you have or create an EA Forum account, you can also vote on the statement! Go to the homepage and drag the slider to your level of agreement.
Warmly,
Sofia, Allison, and the Hive team

We’re excited to promote a free online course on sustainable vegan advocacy (use code HIVE)! 🧡
Hive has partnered with the Center for Effective Vegan Advocacy (CEVA) to make this resource more accessible to our community. This is a self-paced, online course consisting of short videos accompanied by interactive activities and resources.
The course will equip us with knowledge and tools to become mentally stronger and, in turn, help animals better. Even though this course is targeted at vegan advocates, we believe the content can be useful to animal advocates in general, whether you work in vegan advocacy, alternative protein, food systems change, or other sectors.
📚 Research:
Study finds that potato, lentil, chickpea and pea are the most accepted alternative protein sources, as customers already have positive expectations of them.

📋 She uses very clear work division, and a clear plan of what goes on for each person in the day
⚡ In times of crisis: communicate, make fast decisions, and stick to the plan
💸 Always start with the biggest expense and add 10% on everything as a buffer
