Hi everyone, we have two updates to share quickly:
Impactful Animal Advocacy is rebranding to Hive! Don’t worry, we will be the same impact-minded organization, just with a new name and fresh website 🌞 The official launch is scheduled for early May. This is just a friendly heads-up, we will share more information as it gets closer.
There’s a new co-author listed in today’s newsletter — Allison Agnello. Hi, that’s me👋 I’ve been behind-the-scenes, compiling and writing these IAA newsletters since August 2023. Recently I’ve transitioned to full-time at IAA and am focusing on communications (and the rebrand!) Very excited to meet you, officially.
Hope you enjoy this edition’s content! 😊

📌Here are a few studies we think may be helpful for some advocates:
Faunalytics study shows that environmentalists are especially interested in collaborating with animal advocates on legal advocacy, education, and promoting plant-based diets, however alignment (in values, audience, tactics, etc) is likely needed for partner orgs to be willing and able to collaborate. The paper also provides recommendations for both animal & environmental advocates.
Choosing Tactics: Evidence from Social Movement Theory
Animal Ask introduces a list of 92 tactics to support the movement in tactical diversity and innovation, so that groups can choose appropriate ones given their context.
“The most significant grouping of these success factors is dWUNC [Diverse-Worthy-United-Numerous-Committed] which offers a framework for evaluating different tactics.”
New data reveals surprising market opportunities for plant-based meat in Southeast Asia
The Good Food Institute APAC study, conducted by The Good Growth Co., looked at different consumer segment in 6 countries to better understand why most Southeast Asian consumers do not intend to reduce their animal-based meat consumption
“In our study, the audience segment that expressed the most enthusiasm for plant-based meat (classified as “Enthusiasts”) was the group that eats conventional meat the most frequently and is most likely to consume more.”
